Chapter 1: A Warm Welcome

Welcome to "Let the Adventure Begin"—or perhaps I should say, welcome back!

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” - Mahatma Gandhi

I’m thrilled to have you here! Perhaps you’re a returning reader (thank you for that!), or maybe you stumbled upon this publication because you appreciated my informal and relatable writing style. It’s also possible you were drawn in by the tags, thinking, “This might resonate with me.” Or perhaps you’re just curious!

This publication is dedicated to exploring adventures—surprise! It emphasizes physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It’s about maintaining a positive outlook while recognizing that we all face challenges in this journey called life. Often, we glean more wisdom from our failures than our successes; however, there’s no rule that says we can’t find joy amidst our disappointments. What truly matters is the lessons we gather along the way.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” — Dr. Seuss

What qualifications do I have to share this?

I’m glad you’re interested! Here’s a brief overview: I’ve experienced 54 trips around the sun (and counting). I’ve spent 28 years as a teacher and coach across middle school, high school, and college levels. I have completed seven half-marathons and recently achieved my 200-hour yoga certification. Currently, I’m pursuing a mindfulness certification. My academic background includes a bachelor's in secondary education, a master's in pedagogy, and another master's in K-12 school counseling.

That's a snapshot of my experience.

Essentially, I consider myself a versatile learner—skilled in various domains but not a master in any. My aim is to remain in a continuous learning mindset, sharing my insights with others. Service has always been my guiding principle.

Will I welcome contributions from other writers?

Absolutely! I’m eager to open the floor to guest writers soon. However, I want to establish a solid foundation first. Additionally, I’m in the process of launching a podcast under the same name, and I plan to start accepting articles in January 2023.

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months!

And that’s a wrap.
