Chapter 1: Conquering Your Morning
Every morning, I kick-start my day by tackling the hardest challenge first.

Before I embraced this approach, I often found myself battling to stay focused and productive throughout the day. You might relate; distractions and procrastination can hinder your ability to complete essential tasks. Rest assured, you’re not alone in this struggle.
There’s a straightforward strategy that revolutionized my productivity: it’s known as "Eating the Frog." Let’s get straight to the point.
Imagine waking up to the anxiety of an overdue task, whether it’s studying for an exam or managing a vital project. Rather than succumbing to procrastination or getting sidetracked by trivial activities, you choose to "eat the frog." Feel that wave of relief and pride washing over you.
Identifying your "frog task" the night prior is crucial. For me, this involves planning my articles for Medium before I indulge in gym time or social media scrolling. No more excuses, no more delays.
Why is this approach so vital?

Here’s a bit of personal insight: starting my day with my toughest task establishes a positive momentum that carries throughout the day. This practice builds my confidence and instills a sense of achievement that significantly boosts my productivity. Additionally, it alleviates the mental load associated with unfinished tasks, allowing me to savor the rest of my day.
Adjusting the Narrative: Morning vs. Night
While my title might seem a bit sensational, you don’t necessarily need to rise before 9 AM to implement this strategy. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be a morning person to enhance your productivity. What matters is carving out a specific time where you can concentrate exclusively on your frog task, free from interruptions.
I’m an early riser, but you may thrive at night. Identify that optimal time slot that suits you best, and make the most of it. Ultimately, it’s not about achieving perfection or adhering to a conventional productivity model. It’s about committing to yourself consistently and tackling the tough work, even when motivation is lacking. That’s how I shifted my mindset and cultivated a life I’m proud of today.
