Illuminate Your Life: Embracing Love in Challenging Times
Written on
Chapter 1: A Call for Change
What transformations do you yearn to initiate, feel compelled to pursue, or hesitate to embrace? Could this be the moment to venture into the unfamiliar?
A friend recently expressed her frustration with the constant barrage of distressing news on television, stating, “It’s an endless cycle of negativity. Haven’t we faced enough? Yet, another tragedy unfolds.”
This sentiment resonates with many of us. A wave of anger seems to permeate the atmosphere, directed at the circumstances and individuals contributing to our collective grief.
In these trying times, I’m reminded of Martin Luther King Jr.’s poignant words:
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
I find great solace in this quote from a man whose voice was silenced too soon, yet whose wisdom continues to inspire hope.
As I have mentioned before, love is the most potent force available to us. It’s our choice to embrace the power of love. Now, more than ever, we have the chance to elevate our vibrations.
On this Sunday, I’ve observed many voices I admire discussing the importance of expanding our consciousness. Michael Bernard Beckwith recently conveyed this in a sermon at Agape International, emphasizing, “Where your attention goes, energy flows.”
He may not have originated this idea, but he certainly serves as a powerful messenger. It’s crucial to reflect: where are you directing your focus during these challenging times?
Are you fixating on the negatives in your life and in the world? If so, you may find more negativity to occupy your thoughts. What if, instead, you chose to focus on the positives surrounding you? What would that reveal?
Maria Shriver's latest Sunday Paper encouraged us to “Listen to your heart.” Like Beckwith, she is one of the many voices reminding us of this essential truth. Are you guided by your intellect, or are you allowing your heart to lead?
Maria highlighted the efforts of those striving to make a difference, such as fundraising for the victims of the Highland Park tragedy. She urged us, “Many are working tirelessly to cultivate a more compassionate world. Today, close your eyes and open your heart. Our present and future depend on those who embrace their emotions and let them inspire meaningful change.”
Are you embracing your full potential, or are you limiting yourself? Can you quiet your mind and open your heart to both your life and the world?
What if you began leading with your heart?
I recently engaged with a program featuring Mary Morrissey, whose lessons emphasize “Responding instead of reacting.” While she may not have coined this phrase, she is certainly an important voice in its dissemination.
I’ve shared this concept before: you have control over only one thing—yourself. Events may unfold that are beyond your control, but you can choose to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.
You hold the power to choose—this is your autonomy.
This brings me to a thought: instead of seeking a revolution, which implies a sudden upheaval for a new system, what if we viewed our current circumstances as an evolution? Evolution signifies a gradual development, transitioning from simplicity to complexity.
What if you are destined to evolve beyond your former self, stepping into a version of you that you have yet to discover? What if we could forge a new system that transcends the limitations of our previous frameworks?
Both revolution and evolution contain an essential element—love. Are you able to recognize it amidst the chaos?
Fear breeds more fear. We are all energy, and our focus shapes our reality. When we approach life from a place of fear, our clarity diminishes.
It’s during these fearful moments that we tend to react rather than create.
As Louise Hay once articulated, “In the Piscean Age, we looked ‘out there’ for our savior. Now, in the Aquarian Age, we are learning to seek within ourselves.”
“We are the power we have been seeking.”
Louise further elaborated, “Those of us alive during this transformative period chose to be here to facilitate change, moving from an outdated existence to one that is more loving and peaceful.”
Indeed, we are now in the Aquarian Age.
How do we access the power we seek? Through love.
Begin by shifting your thoughts, feelings, and perspectives to emit the signals that will manifest the life you desire, contributing to the world you envision.
It all begins with you—and it begins with me. We must unite and come together. Imagine...
